Wintour of Discontent: Those Vogue Editor Rumors
By: Belinda Luscombe

It's rumored that 20 year Vogue editor Anna Wintour is leaving. Since the beginning of the year several CEOs have left their companies, and 3 months ago it was suggested that Wintour was next. NY Times had even suggested that her work was stale and predictable. After 20 years of success, is it time for Wintour to step down?
It was stated that many companies press on successfully after the end of their current CEO's reign, but what is to come of women of power? In this industry it is not surprising that women hold high positions, but when they leave their success ends as well. History has shown that many women only fail after leaving her current place of business. What is to come of Anna? What is to come of Vogue?
I have a feeling that Vogue would take a hit. Anna is an icon. Her persistency has lead to her great success, but unless her clone stepped in I'm sure Vogue would change (even if just a little). As an avid follower of Vogue, I would be greatly upset by vast changes made to its layout or content. Anna knows Vogue. In a way I guess she is Vogue. She has been the editor my whole life, there is something to be said about that. Personally, (and hopefully) I would like to see Anna Wintour's Vogue reign last up until her retirement. I'm uneasy about seeing what Vogue would be without Anna.
